Registered Teams Coaches' Meeting:
April 19, 2014: Sat. evening (7-8pm) at
Union City Library
34007 Alvarado-Niles Rd, Union City, CA 94587
All coaches of registered teams are encouraged to attend this important meeting. We'll discuss event day logistics and event rules/clarifications.
Registration for 2014 is open now.
Latest Update:
All wait listed teams have been registered. We have space available for more teams to register. We'll keep the registration open till we reach a maximum of 35 teams or till 02/28/2014 whichever is earlier. Now, the registration is open for all teams (any # of teams from a school is allowed at this point). We will register teams on a first-come-first-served basis.
Registration so far (4/1/2014): 26 teams
Original Notes:
Even as we recognize the spreading enthusiasm from several local schools, we are limited in capacity and resources to accommodate more than 35 teams. So, this year, we are allowing a maximum of 3 teams per school to register for the tournament (space permitting, additional teams from a school can register). We strongly encourage schools with more teams to conduct an event within their school (Bay Area ESO organizers will be happy to assist with that) adhering to the spirit of the Science Olympiad.
Space permitting, we'll allow more teams from same school to register (beyond 3) after Jan. 31st, 2014 (till we reach a max. of 35). We will keep registration from teams from maxxed-out schools in a waiting list. We'll accommodate the teams from waiting list in a round-robin fashion from different schools. For eg., if the waiting list has 3 teams from School A (registered on Jan. 28th, 29th, 30th, and 2 teams from School B registered on Jan. 30th, 31st, 4 teams from School C registered on Jan. 28th, 29th and 30th, we'll start taking in schools in this order:Jan. 28th registered team from School A, Jan. 28th registered team from School C, Jan. 30th registered team from School B, Jan.29th registered teams from School A and C, etc. till we reach 35 teams.
We strongly encourage the schools with 3 + teams to conduct the event within their own school, especially the schools that have participated last year and are familiar with the event format/guidelines. This will help free up space for teams from new schools.
