Bay Area Elementary Science Olympiad
9th Bay Area Elementary Science Olympiad was successfully held on May 21, 2016 in Fremont, CA. 32 teams participated in the competition that included 11 events. Kids as young as 9 years old answered some tough questions in optics and cell biology. We saw budding mathematicians doing fast calculations and 'Rounding Off' the answers. The build events saw some fabulous engineering design. We saw amazing skills from future scientists formulating experiments and analyzing their data. No answer was difficult to question for the teams that played the final round of Science Jeopardy!
Kudos to all the kids who participated in the competition. A shout out to all the high school judges who got trained on the judging process and did a wonderful job with their keen understanding of the event. Thanks to all the coaches and parents and volunteers who made this event run smoothly.
We look forward to yet another year of competition next year with more budding scientists taking part in the event.
