Be a Judge

Elementary Science Olympiad

We are happy to announce our merger with Science Gurus, a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to promote STEM education/involvement among youth.

Raji Pingali continues to spear head the event by coaching high school students to act as judges on event day.

Our History

Team of parent volunteers, under the guidance of  Dr. Raji Pingali, started the Elementary Science Olympiad in 2008 at the Challenger, Ardenwood campus with three teams. Next year, the event included another Challenger campus (Palo Alto). In 2011, Arun Pingali, a high school junior spread the program to the local public school and conducted the event with the help of his friends as judges. Since then, it has been run by high school and college students. The event has expanded to include many teams from various Bay Area schools. Vidya Pingali took over the main responsibility of running the event in 2013 as a high school freshman. Raji Pingali has overseen the program since its inception and has guided/mentored youth to run the competition successfully over the years. Madhu Narasimhan, Shubhada Limaye and Gomathy Shanker have been conducting the event successfully since 2017.
